Norwegian offshore safety body, the Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA), has found a non-conformity during an audit of Engie’s follow-up of load-bearing structures and maritime systems on the Gjøa platform offshore Norway.
The safety body identified one non-conformity during the audit relating to procedures. Also, an improvement point was noted concerning third-party verification of documents.
Gjøa is Engie’s first production operatorship on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The gas field is located in the North Sea, 60 kilometers west of Florø. The reservoir sits on top of a thin oil rim and contains an estimated 40 billion cubic meters of gas reserves.
PSA said on Tuesday that the objective of the audit was to assess the company’s established routines for safeguarding the integrity of load-bearing structures and maritime systems in the operational phase in accordance with the regulatory requirements and to verify the routines’ compliance.
Engie and PSA held two rounds of meetings during the audit, one onshore held on August 9 and 10, and one on the Gjøa platform from August 15-18.
PSA told Engie to report on how the non-conformity and improvement point will be dealt with by November 15, 2016.
