The average price of spot LNG for delivery to Japan that was contracted in September was at US$5.6 per mmBtu.
The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), has not released the data for the spot LNG cargoes arriving in September as there were less than two trades during the month.
METI has also not reported on the contract-based price of spot LNG for the previous month due to the lack of reported trades.
The contract-based price for September 2016 dropped more than 24 percent compared to the same month in 2015 when the price was at $7.4 per mmBtu.
Only spot LNG cargoes are taken into account in this assessments, excluding short, medium and long-term contract cargoes, as well as those linked to a particular price index.
