Titan LNG, the supplier of liquefied natural gas to marine and industrial markets in northwest Europe, launched the containerized LNG regasification unit in the port of Amsterdam for Eikelenboom Cleaning.

According to the company’s statement, the mobile containerized LNG unit, named Flexbox, features a 30ft container with a capacity to hold 14 cubic meters of LNG.

Ronald van Selm , operations director, Titan LNG, said the Flexbox has been developed to serve consumers with low gas demands, as well as for the mobile gas market.

Prior to the installation of the LNG unit, Eikelenboom’s location in the port of Amsterdam used heating oil in absence of access to the local gas grid.

The unit will provide Eikelenboom with 1,25 GWh of natural gas per year, which will be used for the production of steam.
