Offshore service vessel company World Wide Supply (WWS) is about to see its whole fleet laid up as the company’s last two active vessels are now without contracts.
Namely, WWS said on Tuesday that the last two vessels on charter to Petrobras, World Emerald and World Sapphire , have now been redelivered to the owner following a blockage by the Brazilian flagged vessels and an expiry of the 60-day extension approved by the Agencia Nacional de Transportes Aquaviarios (ANTAQ).
To remind, the vessels were blocked by the Brazilian local tonnage before their annual renewal of the Brazilian Certificate of Chartering Authorization (CAA) in March this year but managed to prolong the contracts by 60 days each after Petrobras applied to ANTAQ for the extension. The company could not apply for any further extensions.
After the 60-day extension expired, the PSV World Emerald was redelivered on August 31 and is in lay-up in Cadiz, Spain. The PSV World Sapphire was redelivered on October 10 and will sail to Cadiz for lay -up.
The company’s other four vessels, World Diamond , World Pearl , World Peridot , and World Opal , are already in lay-up.
World Emerald and World Sapphire are platform supply vessels of a Damen PSV 3300 CD design built by Damen Shipyards Galati in Romania and delivered in October and December 2013, respectively.
The company also said on Tuesday it has changed manager of the two vessels to Tschudi Ship Management. The new management agreement is a standard shipman agreement and includes both technical as well as commercial management.
WWS’s previous ship manager for all vessels, responsible for commercial and technical management as well as crewing of the vessels, was Remøy Management.
