Oil company Chevron has reported that the body of the last missing person has been identified after a helicopter carrying six people crashed offshore Angola in late September.
Chevron operates in Angola through its Luanda-based subsidiary Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Limited (CABGOC). When it crashed, the helicopter was carrying five passengers and a pilot to Chevron’s Tombua Landana platform off Angola.
According to the company, all five passengers and the pilot have now been accounted for and incident investigation is ongoing. CABGOC continues to work with Angolan authorities.
“We continue to pray for the families and friends of all those impacted by the incident,” the company said.
Chevron’s subsidiary in Angola operates two concessions on behalf of its partners; in Block 0, in partnership with Sonangol S.E., 41%, Total Petroleum Angola Limited, 10% and Eni Angola Production B.V., 9.8%; and Block 14, in partnership with Sonangol P & P 20%, Total Petroleum Angola Limited, Eni Angola Production B.V., 20%, and GALP Energia, 9%.
