InterMoor has added inspection and testing capabilities to its marine base at the Açu Superport in São João da Barra, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The base now boasts a 1,000-ton test bed and can perform load and breaking test for chain, wire rope, and mooring accessories up to 800t SWL.
The inspection, test, and certification capabilities also extend to cargo-handling material like cranes, hoists, rigging, water bags, and slings.
InterMoor’s Port Açu facility is located on a 52,300m2 site with a 90m quayside, a 10m operational draft and a back storage area of 580 m2.

We are now delivering a new set of integrity services including inspection, nondestructive tests, repair, and maintenance for all types of mooring components and cargo handling. There currently are 43 floating production, storage and offloading vessels (FPSO) offshore Brazil and our marine base at the Açu Superport is strategically placed to provide them with the necessary inspection, repair, and maintenance work for their mooring system.”
