Klaipedos Nafta on Tuesday said it has received notification from the Innovation and Networks Executive Agency of the grant agreement for the LNG infrastructure funding in the Baltic sea region.
Under the grant, Klaipedos Nafta, the operator of Lithuania’s LNG terminal in the port of Klaipeda, together with its partners received the right to use the financial support of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) in the amount of €4 million (Approx. US$4.4 million).
The funds will be used for the LNG reloading station, small-scale LNG equipment for the liquefied natural gas terminal and the LNG jetty equipment, Klaipedos Nafta said in its statement.
The construction of the company’s LNG reloading station is ongoing and the foreseen start of operations of LNG reloading station is the second half of 2017.
Last month, Klaipedos Nafta started the capacity allocation at the facility from 2017.
The LNG reloading station will consist of five storage tanks with a 1.000-cbm capacity each, leaving a possibility to expand the station for up to 10 storage tanks. The facility will have the maximum throughput capacities of 250.000-cbm annually with two truck loading bays and a jetty for ship bunkering.
