McDermott International, a provider of engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) services, has reached 45 million man-hours without a lost time incident (LTI) in the Middle East.

McDermott said on Monday that the Quality Health Safety Environment Security (QHSES) milestone was reached on October 24, 2016.

According to the company, 45 million man-hours is equivalent to the time it takes to build the world famous Burj Khalifa building in Dubai – twice.

John Macpherson , McDermott’s Senior Director for Global QHSES, said: “We have reached significant QHSES achievements at facilities around the world, and the Middle East sets a new record achievement in reaching 45-million man-hours LTI-free.”

The company also said that the Taking the Lead program and McDermott Operational Values (MOV) were created to embed excellence in QHSES performance and identify key procedures and processes fostering safety first attitudes and behaviors.

Following a global MOV rollout event in Dubai, Linh Austin , McDermott’s Vice President for the Middle East and Caspian regions, said that McDermott’s staff finds better and safer ways of working which benefits not only the staff but the customers as well.
