Belgium’s Fluxys has conducted first operational tests as part of the commissioning process of the second LNG jetty at its terminal in the outer port of Zeebrugge.
The operational tests were “successful,” Fluxys said on Tuesday through its social media channels.
They were performed with the Dutch-flagged 15,600 cbm Coral Energy, owned by Anthony Veder and chartered by Skangas.
The second jetty, expected to be operational by the end of this year, will be able to accommodate both small and large LNG carriers, with capacities ranging from 2,000 cbm to 217,000 cbm of the chilled fuel.
Over 200 loading operations for small LNG carriers have already been reserved at the jetty, according to Fluxys.
