Specialist insurer Markel International is now offering insurance cover specifically designed for the diverse and constantly evolving marine equipment market.

Andy Lane and David Stallard, who have recently joined the company with a combined 45 years of experience, have produced a sector leading insurance product which contains numerous benefits such as redeployment costs, search and rescue costs, and wreck removal cover as standard.

The wording can be tailored by Markel to meet any client’s needs and it is constantly reviewed to ensure it continues to fully meet the needs of the fast paced offshore industry.

The policy has been designed to encompass a wide range of offshore, overside and subsea equipment. To this end, the wording caters for the oil and gas exploration and production industry, as well as sectors including geo-technical, seismic, commercial diving and university and research institutions.

Typical equipment that can be insured ranges from remotely operated and autonomous underwater vehicles to seismic streamers, saturation dive systems & buoys of all kinds. Geo-technical equipment such as ADCPs, echo sounders, side scan sonars and towfish are also catered for.
