The Holland Home of Wind Energy plans a new visit to Massachusetts in order to secure their part in the development of this US state’s offshore wind potential after their most recent visit reportedly demonstrated that ”offshore wind is about to take off in the US, and Dutch companies could play a role in this sector.”

Back in October, the Holland Innovation Network organized a booth for the Holland Home of Wind Energy and Dutch companies in the offshore wind sector to display the knowledge and expertise of this Dutch sector during this year’s Offshore Windpower Conference held in October in Warwick, Rhode Island, and organised by the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA).

The conference showed that there was a lot of interest in the Dutch companies, especially with the recent cost reductions in the offshore wind farm Borssele, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency said in its report on the visit.

There have also been proposals for several US stakeholders to visit the Netherlands in 2017. Additionally, some US stakeholders expressed their interest in opportunities to learn more about the Dutch industry and tendering process.

The Holland Innovation Network plans to invite AWEA, the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC), and other companies of interest to the Netherlands to show them the Dutch skills and expertise in the offshore wind sector.

The Holland Innovation Network will also organise a webinar on the tendering process of the Borssele project, for which many stakeholders have already expressed interest.
