Alpha Process Controls completed and supplied its LNG hose transfer system to the GNL Quintero regasification terminal in Chile.

The UK-based division of the GT Group has dispatched the completed emergency release collar (ERC) systems to South America, following the completion of a series of factory acceptance tests, APC said in its statement.

In addition, the ERC coupling systems, which feature in both the liquid and vapour lines, received class accreditation from Japan-based classification society, Nippon Kaiji Kyokai.

The delivered systems enable the controlled shutdown of internal valves that maintains pressure surges without compromising pipework or pumps in the event of a ship-to-shore separation caused by vessel drift-away.

Alongside the ERC couplings, APC has supplied fixed and adjustable height saddles, LNG hoses, concentric reducers and deployment equipment. The systems also include a support transfer unit to maneuver the ERC couplings into position on the jetty and to meet vessel configurations.

Once delivered to the Pacific coast facility, the systems will be utilized for emergency ship-to-shore transfer of LNG, providing operational continuity if the terminal’s pre-installed loading arms cannot be used.
