Ensco-owned jack-up drilling rig Ensco 72 has completed its Special Periodic Survey (SPS) and left the yard, Semco Maritime, a project engineering company, reported through its social media channels on Thursday.

Semco Maritime further said that, for the last two months, the company has been the main contractor for the rig’s SPS at its facilities at Tampenkaj in Esbjerg, Denmark.

According to the company, the majority of the work focused on the ballast tanks where many tons of steel have been replaced, including surface treatment. In addition, various mechanical, structural, and electrical scopes have been completed.

Following its departure, the jack-up rig, of a Hitachi K1025N design, will work in the Dutch sector, Semco said.

According to data from Ensco’s latest fleet status report, issued in October, Ensco 72 is in preparations for a contract with Engie in the Netherlands. The contract starts in November and will last until May 2017.
