Iceni Marine is holding a naming ceremony for its new vessel, Iceni Defender, at Alicat Workboats’ facilities in Great Yarmouth, where also Iceni’s next vessel – Iceni Legend – is being built and is scheduled to be launched in March 2017.

South Boats IOW and Alicat Workboats launched the Iceni Defender at the beginning of November.

Iceni Defender is a sister vessel of Iceni Venture and Iceni Vengeance and was ordered by Iceni in February 2016, with an option for further two vessels. In March 2016, Iceni ordered another vessel .

The Iceni Defender crew transfer vessel (CTV) features twin MAN V12-1400 main engines coupled to Hamilton HM651 water jet propulsion for speeds up to 30 knots and efficient cruising speeds coupled to high bollard pull capability. The vessel has a resiliently mounted superstructure ensuring low noise and vibration levels for twelve industrial personnel whilst passaging to and from site and forward and after cargo decks capable of carrying fifteen tonnes of equipment, according to South Boats IOW.
