K2 Management has been awarded a contract for a feasibility study for an offshore wind farm in South Korea.

The company said that, on its client’s request, it will not disclose any project-related information.

K2 Management will partner up with a local engineering company for the development of wind farm layout, review and assessment of the pre-feasibility study, and an independent Energy Yield Assessment.

The South Korean company and K2 will also carry out energy calculations for four different wind turbines and determine technical losses of the various turbine models. Furthermore, the companies will review foundation jacket design, onshore substation and grid connection, and offshore cable route engineering.

In addition, they will work on an Operations & Maintenance strategy and estimate CAPEX and OPEX, visit European offshore wind farms and harbours.

“We are very pleased and honored that our customer has chosen us to support the development of offshore wind in South Korea. We are looking forward to using our insights from more than 100 offshore wind projects across the world,” K2 Management Korean Country Director, Jung Kwang-Woon said.
