Six crewmembers were evacuated from the 1,317 dwt bunkering tanker Arca 1 after the vessel grounded at a rocky shallow off the coast of Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada.
The ship ran into trouble due to an engine failure and loss of propulsion around 10 am local time on January 8, according to Canadian Joint Task Force Atlantic (JTFA).
There were no injuries and no pollution reported following the incident.
Canadian Coast Guard crews are monitoring the 1963-built ship.
AIS data provided by MarineTraffic shows that the vessel was on its way from Quebec, Canada when it encountered the issues in inclement weather.
