Oslo-listed gas shipping company BW Group held a naming ceremony for the company’s second LNG floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU), the BW Integrity, at Samsung Heavy Industries Shipyard on January 12.

In August 2016, BW signed a 15-year agreement with Pakistan GasPort Limited (PGPL) to provide LNG regasification services utilizing the new-build FSRU for the second Pakistan LNG terminal.

“We look forward to making this FSRU a critical element of Pakistan’s RLNG Supply Chain as part of the PGPC Terminal at Port Qasim in Karachi. This FSRU will more than double Pakistan’s LNG regasification capacity to over 1200 MMCFD,” Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Federal Minister, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources of the Government of Pakistan, said.

BW’s first FSRU, the BW Singapore, is currently involved in a five-year contract providing LNG regasification and storage services at the Port of Ain Sokhna in Egypt.
