Energy World Corporation on Monday said its dedicated LNG carrier, Ocean Quest, arrived at its Pagbilao LNG facility located in Quezon Province, the Philippines.
The company is developing its LNG terminal consisting of two, full containment LNG storage tanks with a capacity of 130,000 cubic meters of LNG each. It also consists of a dedicated jetty, and marine infrastructure for the loading and unloading of LNG ships, as well as regasification, control center and workshops and other ancillary facilities.
The 1979-build LNG carrier has the capacity to transport 128,000-cbm of liquefied natural gas and will be dedicated to EWC’s LNG terminal in the Philippines where it will be based.
The vessel is owned by Hong Kong LNG, a unit of Energy World Corp, that said in its statement, that the carrier would be able to collect cargoes and has sufficient capacity to act as a floating storage. It also has onboard regasification and processing equipment in case it is required to provide regasified LNG directly to the power station.
EWC is building an LNG-fueled combined cycle gas turbine power station, with a 650MW capacity, adjacent to the LNG terminal. Electricity produced at the plant will be sold to the Luzon grid.
The company noted that with the arrival of the Ocean Quest, it is in complete control of gas production, liquefaction, spot LNG purchases, transport, storage regasification and the production of electricity.
