Drilling contractor North Atlantic Drilling has been awarded a one-well contract for the semi-submersible rig West Phoenix.
The contract is for work in the United Kingdom, West of Shetland with the French oil giant Total.
In a statement on Tuesday, North Atlantic Drilling said the contract was in direct continuation with the West Phoenix’s existing contract.
The total backlog for the contract is estimated at $17 million. The West Phoenix has worked for Total E&P UK since 2009.
Built in 2008, West Phoenix is a 6th generation drilling unit.
