Offshore drilling contractor Noble Corp. has received contract extensions for a pair of jack-up rigs from the oil company Saudi Aramco.
The drilling contractor said in its latest fleet status report on Thursday that the 2009-built jack-up rig Noble Scott Marks has received a five-year contract extension with Saudi Aramco, in continuation with the current contract. The extension is from early July 2017 to early July 2022.
The Noble Scott Marks’ dayrate was reduced to $159,000 from its previous operating dayrate of $167,000. The rig of a F&G JU-2000E design is operating in Saudi Arabia.
Furthermore, the 2007-built jack-up Noble Roger Lewis has also been awarded a five-year contract extension from Saudi Aramco, starting from early March 2017 to early March 2022. The rig’s dayrate was also reduced to $159,000 from $167,000.
Noble also reported that its 2014-built jack-up Noble Sam Hartley is running ahead of schedule working for Total off Brunei. As a result, the rig could be available in the first half of 2018.
The original program for this jack-up was defined as a six-well project, with an expected completion of three years. The rig started in mid-January 2016 and the contract end date was previously agreed for mid-January 2019.
