The Paris MoU organization detained a general cargo vessel in Port of Rostov-on-Don, Russian Federation, on January 4, 2017.
M/V Sormovskiy 54, which flies the flag of Palau, is owned by Russia’s Navigator Group, VesselsValue’s data shows.
The 3,400 dwt single-deck vessel represents the third detention in the Paris MoU region in the last 18 months.
Following its detention, the 1978-built Sormovskiy 54 will be refused further access to any port and anchorage in the Paris MOU region, except a port and anchorage of the ship’s flag state.
The refusal of access will become applicable immediately after the ship is authorized to leave this port and anchorage, according to the Paris MoU.
As this is the first refusal of access order for the vessel, the period of the refusal of access will be three months, the organization said.
The Paris MoU is comprised of 27 participating maritime administrations and covers the waters of the European coastal States and the North Atlantic basin from North America to Europe.
