Prosafe has secured a contract with Total to deploy one of its flotels to the UK North Sea.
Under the agreement, Total E&P UK will hire the Safe Caledonia semi-submersible accommodation rig at the Elgin-Franklin offshore platform.
The firm period of the contract is 134 days plus additional 30 days option to extend with on-site operations planned to start May 15, 2017.
The total value of the contract is estimated at $10 million including mobilization, demobilization and associated services.
Safe Caledonia was built in 1982 at GVA Kockums yard in Sweden to a Pacesetter design and completed a 20 year life extension in 2012/13.
It has a maximum of 454 beds, 9 offices and 67 client workstations, and a telescopic hydraulic gangway.
