Titan LNG, the supplier of LNG to the marine and industrial markets in North West Europe, has been awarded a subsidy of €500.000 (Approx: US$535,000) by the province of North-Holland to support the construction of its LNG bunkering pontoon.
The Flex-fueler project was selected under the province’s ‘Clean Harbour Programme’, according to Titan LNG’s statement.
Speaking of the award to Titan LNG, Jaap Bond , representative from the province of North-Holland said that in the port of Amsterdam, the Flex-Fueler would accelerate the transition to LNG as a cleaner marine fuel.
The pontoon, named Titan LNG Flex-Fueler is designed to have a fixed location to supply inland waterway vessels, but can also be navigated to larger sea-going vessels and supply LNG while they load or unload their cargo.
The pontoon features a double bottom, double hull with a length of 70 meters and will be fitted with up to four tanks, each with a capacity of 300 cubic meters (cbm). It will have discharge capacity range between 30 and 450-cbm of LNG per hour and will be capable of loading and unloading via ex-wharf, ex-truck and ex-vessel Titan LNG said in September last year following the unveiling of the project.
