Euskalforging has won contracts for the delivery of foundation flanges for the Aberdeen Offshore Wind Farm in the UK and Belgian Rentel offshore wind project.

The contract for the Aberdeen Offshore Wind Farm, also known as the European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (EOWDC), covers the delivery of 11 flanges for the suction bucket foundation with an outer diameter of 6.500mm.

Under the terms of the contract for the Rentel offshore wind farm, euskalforging will roll, heat treat, machine and deliver 42 flanges with an outer diameter of 6.000mm. “The project represents another milestone for euskalforging and reinforces its leadership in the offshore wind market after participating in 30 offshore wind farms in the last few years,” the company stated.

The foundations for the 11 MHI Vestas 8.4MW turbines that will spin at the EOWDC site will be produced by Smulders , which will also work on the Rentel transition pieces together with Sif, a company in charge of the delivery of foundations for the project.
