Construction on the fifth LNG storage tank at the Fluxys-operated Zeebrugge terminal in Belgium is moving forward.
The work on the 180,000-cbm storage tank officially began in June 2015. Once completed, it will be the largest tank at the Zeebrugge LNG terminal, with a diameter of 95 metres and a total height of 45.5 metres.
Each of the first three tanks has a capacity of 80,000-cbm, whilst the fourth tank can hold up to 140,000-cbm of LNG.
Fluxys on Thursday posted a timelapse of the construction of the 5th tank’s dome at its LNG terminal located in the outer port of Zeebrugge.

Worth mentioning, Fluxys has also recently opened the second jetty at the Zeebrugge terminal.
According to Fluxys, about 200 loadings have already been booked at the second jetty for small LNG carriers under long-term contracts.
The second jetty will be able to accommodate both small and large LNG carriers, with capacities ranging from 2,000-cbm to 217,000-cbm.
