On some of the projects Chevalier Floatels’ vessels DP Gazina and DP Galyna have worked on since the latest upgrades, the vessels made more than 50 gangway connections to different turbines in 24 hours on several occassions.

“This is an industry record. Ampelmann confirmed that they never had so many connections in any of their projects on any vessel,” Marcel Roelofs , CEO of the company said.

After the last year’s upgrades , the vessels participated in 11 different offshore campaigns with almost all the projects completed ahead of schedule. “One of the main reasons is the high performance of the DP Gezina and the DP Galyna. The new Ampelmann software increased bad weather performance. The new propulsion lay out the vessels made the vessels highly manoeuvrable. The vessels can travel at 6 knots on DP and manoeuvre quickly into the right position for transfer,” Roelofs said.

Last season, DP Gezina and DP Galyna worked at two DONG Energy’s offshore wind farms, as well as on HelWin Alpha, Beta and SylWin offshore converter platforms, Dogger Bank Met Mast, Nordsee One and Veja Mate, with the vessel used multiple times on several of these projects.
