Adriatic LNG, the company that operates the regasification terminal off the Veneto coastline is relocating its shore base in Porto Viro.
According to the company’s statement, the relocation to the new offices is set to meet the need to enhance Adriatic LNG’s logistics.
Covering an area of more than 50,000 square meters, the structure is an aero-marine station able to aggregate all the activities concerning the transport of goods and people to and from the terminal by boat and helicopter, with a heliport put into operation in June 2015, the statement reads.
The new shore base, being closer to the coastline, will also reduce the journey time to reach the terminal by sea, facilitating the transport of goods and people, while staff will only take eight minutes to reach the terminal by helicopter.
Operating since autumn 2009, the Adriatic LNG regasification terminal secures more than 10 percent of the Italian national gas consumption.
Cargoes delivered to the gravity-based terminal with the 8 billion cubic meters annual capacity are sourced from Qatar, Egypt, Trinidad and Tobago, Equatorial Guinea and Norway.
Adriatic LNG is co-controlled by Emigas, a unit of ExxonMobil and Qatar Petroleum’s unit Qatar, Terminal.
