The installation of foundations at the Galloper offshore wind farm is halfway to completion with 28 of the total 56 foundations now installed.

GeoSea, using its installation vessel Innovation, installed the first foundation at the 336MW offshore wind farm on 28 December 2016, and the halfway mark has been reached on schedule, according to innogy’s social media pages.

All foundations, including monopiles and transition pieces produced by Sif Group and Smulders, are planned to be in place by early summer, when the installation of the fifty-six 6MW Siemens turbines is expected to start.

Development and construction of the GBP 1.5 billion Galloper offshore wind farm is led by innogy SE on behalf of the project partners, UK Green Investment Bank (GIB), Siemens Financial Services and Macquarie Capital.
