Beijing-based Huadian Heavy Industries has extended KCI the Engineers’ scope for the offshore wind contract awarded last December.

Back in December, Huadian Heavy contracted KCI to carry out the design review of both a topside and a foundation, fabrication preparation, load out and installation engineering of an offshore substation.

The company will now also perform the pile driveability analyses for the project.

In July 2016, Oceanteam and KCI signed a long-term representing and consultancy agreement with OFFCO (Offshore Cooperation) for projects relating to offshore wind installations and cable lay operations in China, under which KCI will provide engineering services for potential projects.

OFFCO is an international organisation with both Dutch and Chinese partners with a track record in Chinese offshore oil and gas and renewables activities.
