As of 2019, GeoSea will use a next generation vessel – named Orion – for the construction of the large offshore wind farms, after its mother company DEME placed an order for the 216.5m DP3 installation vessel with COSCO shipyard in China.

Second Windea SOV Named and Ready for Sandbank
Windea Leibniz, the second service operation vessel (SOV) ordered by Bernhard Schulte Offshore and ICBC Leasing from Ulstein, will start working for Siemens at the Sandbank wind farm in April, after being named at a ceremony held on 2 March.
A2SEA Picks Pearson Electrical for Jack-Up Maintenance Work
Hull-based electrical engineering firm Pearson Electrical has signed a framework agreement to provide maintenance work on A2SEA’s wind turbine installation vessel Sea Challenger being used to transport Siemens turbine components from Green Port Hull and install them on the 402MW Dudgeon offshore wind farm.
Siemens-Gamesa Merger to Obtain EU Approval by Mid-March
The European Commission will decide on the Siemens-Gamesa merger by 13 March. The deal involves Gamesa absorbing Siemens’s wind power assets in exchange for newly-issued shares in Gamesa, with Siemens owning 59% of the new company and Iberdrola retaining an 8% interest.
