The three liquefaction plants located on Curtis Island off Gladstone shipped a total of 50 LNG cargoes during the first two months of 2017.
Shell’s Queensland Curtis LNG project began exporting in January 2015, while Santos GLNG and the ConocoPhillips-operated Australia Pacific LNG project commenced exports in September 2015 and January 2016, respectively.
The total exports reached 3.25 million tons during the period, data from the Gladstone Ports Corporation shows.
January exports reached 1.69 million tons spread over 26 cargoes, while 24 cargoes exported in February totaled 1.56 million tons.
The majority of the chilled gas was delivered to China (1.25 million tons) and South Korea (1.07 million tons) followed by Japan, India, Singapore and Thailand, during the two months.
During the financial year 2017, exports reached 12.78 million tons, according to the data, with China (5.95 mt), South Korea (2.93 mt), Japan (1.85 mt) and Singapore (1.18 mt) taking the majority of deliveries.
Cargoes were also delivered to India, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Mexico and the United Arab Emirates.
