The state-owned Sonatrach named Abdelmoumen Ould Kadour as the company’s new chief executive officer.

Citing Algeria’s energy ministry, Reuters reports that Kadour replaces Amine Mazouzi who served as the company’s CEO since 2015.

No reason for the change in the CEO position has been given by the ministry.

Newly appointed Kadour has previously led the Brown & Root Condor, a construction engineering company established in 1994 as a unit of Sonatrach.

Algerian energy company has the capacity to produce 16.3 mtpa of LNG at its Arzew facility and additional 4.7 mtpa at the Skikda plant.
