China Oilfield Services Limited (COSL), an offshore oilfield service provider, is nearing the completion of a seismic survey offshore Gabon.
COSL said on Wednesday that the seismic vessel Hai Yang Shi You 720, or HYSY720 for short, would complete the Gabon survey in early April 2017 as scheduled.
The company added that a contract, with an unnamed client, for the next seismic survey is already under negotiation.
The 2011-built HYSY720, a 12-streamer, 107-meter-long seismic vessel, works under the Geophysical and Surveying segment of COSL.
Before the Gabon project, the vessel completed a 3D seismic acquisition program covering a total area of over 4,000 square kilometers in the Arctic region, more precisely, in the Barents Sea.
This was COSL’s first 3D seismic work in Arctic waters.
