Oilfield services specialist Wood Group will deliver front end engineering design (FEED) for Premier Oil’s Tolmount offshore field development in the Southern North Sea.

The company said it would provide topsides, jacket, pipeline, flow assurance and subsea engineering expertise for Premier’s Tolmount offshore assets and export pipeline, which ties into the Dimlington onshore terminal in Humberside.

Robin Watson , Wood Group’s chief executive, said: “We are committed to delivering a full systems engineering approach from the subsea wellhead, through the offshore facilities, export pipeline and to the onshore terminal, complete with end-to-end flow assurance.

He said the contract built upon Wood Group’s existing relationship with Premier Oil and adding he was looking forward to “leveraging our global expertise to support this key UKCS project.”

The Tolmount is a gas field located in the Southern North Sea, 40 miles east of the Yorkshire coast offshore the UK. The discovery was made by E.On back in 2011.

Premier Oil acquired the operatorship over the Tolmount last year, when it bought all of E.On’s UK North Sea assets for $120 million.

At the time, the company dubbed the Tolmount as “one of the largest discoveries in the Southern Gas Basin in recent years with estimated gross resources of 200Bcf-1Tcf.”

Premier Oil is the operator of Tolmount with a 50 percent stake. The company is on the look-out for a potential farm-out partner for a 20% interest in the project.
