Heavy transport specialist Hansa Heavy Lift (HHL) has utilized its HHL Richards Bay transport vessel to transfer equipment for the construction of the Eni-operated Jangkrik project off Indonesia.
HHL said on Tuesday that it completed the transfer of two dozen reels as well as a range of subsea equipment for the Jangkrik Complex project.
The company said that the HHL Richards Bay picked up cargo at three different ports: Rosyth in the UK, Le Trait in France, and Tanjung Langsat in Malaysia.
HHL discharged the reels and subsea equipment in Balikpapan, Indonesia, onto the offshore vessel Viking Neptun, in five mobilizations.
Two more offshore vessels, the Seismic Supporter and the Deep Orient, were used to load and offload some of the equipment from the HHL Richards Bay.
Henry Woo , Head of HHL Asia Pacific, said: “Our P2-1400 vessel type was the ideal ship for this project, as she provided enough space to stow and handle the cargo and enough crane capacity for discharging.”
During the final move, HHL transferred 19 empty reels to the Viking Neptun and loaded all the subsea equipment, while the remaining reels and equipment were discharged in Tanjung Langsat.
Stephane Catroux , Deputy Package Manager at TechnipFMC, said: “Technip is delighted to have had the opportunity to work with HHL during the recently completed offshore risers and static umbilicals installation campaign for the Jangkrik Complex project.
“We hope there will be more opportunities soon for us to work together with Hansa on other projects in the offshore industry.”
Regarding TechnipFMC’s involvement with the project, the company was awarded the risers and static umbilicals installation contract by Jangkrik project operator Eni back in 2014.
The Italian oil major named the “Jangkrik” Floating Production Unit (FPU) vessel last month at Saipem’s Karimun Yard. The FPU will operate in the Muara Bakau PSC located in the Kutei Basin, in the Makassar Strait offshore for the “Jangkrik Complex Fields.”
