Liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports from Cheniere’s Sabine Pass liquefaction facility in Louisiana reached 52 billion cubic feet in February, the latest data from the U.S. Department of Energy shows.
This marks a new high as volumes exported in February surpassed the 51.2 billion cubic feet of natural gas exported in January.
The Sabine Pass plant, currently the only such facility to ship U.S. shale gas overseas, exported in total 16 LNG cargoes in February, however, the first cargo of the month, loaded onboard the Clean Ocean LNG carrier was split between Portugal and Spain.
LNG cargoes shipped from the facility in February were priced from $3.9 per mmBtu to 7.05 per mmBtu.
In total, volumes exported from the Sabine Pass reached 103.2 billion cubic feet of natural gas During the first two months.
In addition to the LNG exported from Cheniere’s Sabine Pass facility, 36.8 million cubic feet of natural gas were exported by American LNG by ISO containers from the Hialeah facility in Florida to Barbados. All cargoes were booked at the $10 per mmBtu, according to the DOE’s data.
