Decom North Sea, the representative body for the offshore decommissioning industry, has published the program for its conference and exhibition, Decom Offshore 2017.
Decom North Sea said on Wednesday that the fifth annual Decom Offshore conference, principally sponsored by Bureau Veritas UK, would take place on May 24 at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Center under the “Challenging the Norm” theme.
The organization added that the expected 400 attendees would hear from keynote speaker, Centrica’s managing director of Exploration & Production, Chris Cox , followed by updates from key industry representatives, including the Oil and Gas Authority and Dutch EBN.
The regulators will share the agenda with several operators including Maersk and Engie E&P Nederland B.V.
Decom North Sea said that the delegates would also have a choice of three break-out sessions. The three sessions on offer will be Wells Technology Today, Onshore Decommissioning Opportunity, and Alternative Removal Technologies.
A novelty for 2017’s program is a “Question Time” panel session chaired by Mark McAllister , chairman of The Decommissioning Company which will allow the audience to put their questions to several sector stakeholders including the Scottish Fishermen’s Federation and Marine Scotland.
The conference will include One-to-One sessions, with emphasis on supply chain export opportunities assisted by Decom North Sea with guidance from the Department of International Trade and Scottish Development International covering Asia, Canada, China, Denmark, Mexico, Norway, and The Netherlands.
According to Decom North Sea, the conference is expected to have over 30 exhibitors and will provide a platform for the sector to showcase innovative products and solutions.
