A record number of 650,000 passengers onboard 270 cruise ships is expected to visit Swedish Ports of Stockholm during 2017 cruise season.

The forecast will result in 160,000 more guests and 40 more ships than in 2016 when the port welcomed a total of 490,000 passengers onboard 230 cruise vessels.

The cruise season began on April 30 with the arrival of the vessel National Geographic Orion.

Out of 270 vessels that will call at Ports of Stockholm, a record number of 75 cruise ships will be turnarounds, vessels that begin and/or end their cruise in Stockholm, according to the port.

New to Stockholm in 2017 are cruise ships Norwegian Getaway, which is also the largest vessel this year, MSC Fantasia and a New Year cruise where Saga Sapphire has chosen to call at this port.
