Qatargas said it has delivered the commissioning cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to China National Oil Corporation’s (CNOOC) Yuedong LNG terminal.

The LNG cargo, delivered on board the Qatargas-chartered Q-Flex LNG vessel Al Kharaitiyat, was used for the commissioning of CNOOC’s LNG terminal.

The Yuedong LNG receiving terminal, which has an initial receiving capacity of 2 million tons per annum, is owned and operated by CNOOC.

The new terminal is the latest addition to CNOOC’s LNG receiving terminal portfolio, joining existing terminals in Shanghai, Guangdong, Fujian, Zhejiang and Hainan.

For Qatargas, this was the fourth commissioning cargo it has delivered to CNOOC’s LNG terminal, and the seventh commissioning cargo the company has delivered to China.
