Ampelmann has completed offshore trials of the first electrical trolley, named CargoLight, on the Esvagt Froude Service Operation Vessel (SOV), which is working for Siemens Wind Power at the Baltic 2 offshore wind farm in Germany.
The trolley, suitable for the existing Ampelmann fleet of A-type and E-type gangways, can be operated by one person and can carry various tools, bags and spares weighing up to 200kg.
In addition, the company is working on a larger trolley that can carry a payload of 400kg, which can be used on the A400 gangway, developed for fast-and-easy cargo/people flows. The A400 will be released in October 2017.
The Esvagt Froude SOV started working at the Baltic 2 offshore wind farm in February 2015 , after Siemens provisionally chartered the vessel for a five-year contract to service the field and transport personnel during the constructing and operation of the German offshore wind farm.
