DEME Group today released a photo of the Tuas Terminal Phase 1 (TTP1) reclamation works in Singapore.
This drone photo of the TTP1 site, taken on 15 May 2017, shows the reclamation and caisson works for this mega-project proceeding apace.
The shape of the future quay-wall slowly becomes visible as the caissons stretch out into the Tuas Basin, and the reclamation is emerging above sea level.
The intense engineering and coordination work associated to the TTP1 project are evident from the sheer spread of equipment on display in this picture: from mechanical Grab Dredgers to a TSHD and a panoply of custom-built equipment in the caisson installation train.
The Tuas Terminal Phase 1 project includes construction of a new port terminal with 20 deep-water berths having a total capacity of 20 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) per annum. To achieve this, more than 80 million cubic meters of reclamation fill will be used comprising dredged materials from the seabed, excavated materials from other land-based projects and sea sand.
DEME’s most powerful rock cutter suction dredgers and a trailer suction dredger have been deployed for the dredging works in order to complete the project by 2021.
