Offshore driller Noble Corporation has been awarded new contracts for one of its drillships under which the unit will operate in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico and later Suriname.
In its latest fleet status report issued on Thursday, Noble informed that the 2013-built drillship Noble Bob Douglas has been awarded a contract with Murphy Oil, which will last from early to late July. The rig’s dayrate has not been disclosed.
Later, the Gusto P10,000 drillship will work for Tullow Oil offshore Suriname, also under an undisclosed dayrate. This contract will last from early October to early November 2017.
The rig has been without work since its contract with Apache also off Suriname ended in mid-April.
Further in the fleet status report, Noble said that a contract for the 2009-built jack-up Noble Hans Deul has been terminated early by Shell in the UK. The contract is now expected to end in late September 2017 instead of early August 2018.
The jack-up of a F&G JU-2000E design is operating under a dayrate of $88,000.
