The County of Dare has just released the latest video on the ongoing beach nourishment operations in Duck, Kill Devil Hills and Buxton.

Beach nourishment in Kill Devil Hills began on June 22nd at approximately 6:00 p.m. with the first sand pumped onto the beach in the vicinity of the Helga Street ocean access.

The project has now moved just north of Arch Street in Kill Devil Hills and extends to approximately Sibbern Avenue in Kitty Hawk. Both the Arch Street and Helga Street ocean accesses are open, reported the town yesterday.

In the Town of Duck, the construction zone remains approximately between approximately 111 Bufflehead Rd and Pintail Dr. The contractor, Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company, has almost finished constructing the dune in this area and will open it to foot traffic as soon as possible.

There will be a final Duck public update meeting on the project this coming Thursday, June 29 at 1:00 p.m. in the Paul F. Keller Meeting Hall.
