Contract work crews for the City of Henderson, KY, have begun the dredging project at the Second and Third Street boat ramps on the Henderson riverfront, the city said in its latest announcement.
The goal for the project is to clear mud, silt and debris that collects with the fluctuation of the Ohio River.
Dredging in the boat ramp areas is necessary every so often, the city said.
The downtown work is expected to take place through Friday.
This work follows repairs and clearing of the boat launch area recently at Hays Boat Ramp.
The city said that ramp has now been reopened to the public.
