VSBW – a joint venture between VolkerStevin and Boskalis Westminster – is making good progress with the Dover Western Docks Revival (DWDR) project.

The £250 million DWDR development is the single biggest investment ever undertaken by the port and represents the next stage of its evolution.

DWDR will provide a new cargo terminal and new port-centric distribution facility transforming cargo and logistics operations, and through the creation of a new marina will transform the waterfront and attract inward investment into the area.

According to VSBW, approximately one million cubic meters of silt, gravel and chalk will be removed from the harbor to allow for the creation of a purpose-built cargo and logistics facility, a new marina and a transformed waterfront at Europe’s busiest ferry port.

The construction program is scheduled to be completed at the end of 2018.
