Dutch shipbuilder Ferus Smit has launched Symphony Spirit, the fifth in a series of six vessels that will be delivered to compatriot company Symphony Shipping.
The launching of the general cargo vessel took place on August 25 in Leer, Germany.
The 10,500 dwt Symphony Spirit has a hold volume of 429,000 cft.
Featuring a length of 122.5 meters and a width of 17 meters, the vessel has the so called Ecobox design, with a large single hold of completely box shaped form.
In addition, the 7,000 gross ton ship has a large loading floor area for project cargoes, including movable tweendeck.
The ship’s deckhouse is placed on foreship for better protection of deck cargo and enabling to load oversized items over the stern.
The newbuilding has the Ferus Smit ECO bulbless Canoe type bow, designed to reduce fuel costs and better sustained speed in harsh weather and sea state conditions.
In March, the shipbuilder launched Symphony Provider, the second in a series of two Exobox DP2 vessels built for Symphony Shipping at the same shipyard.
