The Netherlands-based shipyard Icon Yachts is building a very special yacht, named the Gotham Project, scheduled for delivery in the spring of 2019.
The aluminium yacht is realised with the brokerage firm Bristow-Holmes and is designed in partnership with ER Yacht Design. The naval architects are Icon Yachts and Van Oossanen Naval.
The Gotham Project, which got its name from the fictional city of Gotham, has an overall length of 45.84 meters, a beam of 8.5 meters and a maximum draught of 6.1 meters.
The yacht has special features like a ‘recessed waterside bar unit’ on the aft bathing platform for greeting and entertaining clients on arrival or during water sports activities, a large aft cockpit with seating for up to 16 guests and a sunbathing area with plunge pool. The Gotham Project also has a large flybridge with a central staircase to the sundeck, symmetrical bar units to port and starboard and large ‘u shaped’ seating around rise and fall hydraulic coffee tables with rotating table tops that convert to form an extremely large sun pad.
Sundeck has a dining space for up to 16 guests around two unique dining tables with glass tops that allow natural light to penetrate through the tables and the subsequent glass panels.
Icon Yachts has selected Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology as partner for the entire electrical system on board the Gotham Project, including design, system integration, supply and installation.
The scope of the work for Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology includes, among others, the complete engineering package, system integration, power generation and power management, AC and DC power distribution, panel building, cabling plan, all lighting (interior, exterior and underwater), the DC battery system and the alarm and monitoring system.
The Gotham Project is the first in a series of yachts to be built by Icon Yachts in partnership with Bristow-Holmes.
