UAE’s Drydocks World has won the “Rig Repair Yard of the Year Award” at the 3rd Offshore Achievement Awards ceremony held in Dubai.
The third edition of the Offshore Achievement Awards for the jack-up rig and liftboat industry took place on October 9, 2017, during the annual Offshore Jack-Up Middle East (OJME) conference in Dubai, UAE.
The awards recognize the best organizations and individuals that have successfully deployed programs, strategies, processes, systems, and tools that have achieved measurable results. It brought together more than 200 rig owners, designers, equipment manufacturers, shipyards, and professionals from the industry.
Mohammad Rizal , COO at Drydocks World, said: “This is an honor for our company, which validates our approach and the hard work of Drydocks World rig division personnel.
“Drydocks World serviced 66 percent more rigs in 2017 than in 2016, demonstrating our strengthened competitive capabilities and position as a rig service provider of choice.”
The company said on Thursday that it delivered 15 projects and expected to complete 12 projects by the end of the year.
“Successful deliveries of these projects once again highlight the customer confidence and establish Drydocks World as the leader in this region,” the company said.
Drydocks won the award for the rig integrity assurance program on the Diyina jack-up rig which was completed with no loss time injuries on the 3.5 million man-hours worked. The company added that HSEQ programs were systematically programmed, constantly monitored, and periodically evaluated.
While it’s been awarded for rig work, the UAE-based company works on other pieces of the offshore oil and gas industry puzzle, such as FPSOs.
The company has recently signed an agreement for two new projects with Bluewater Energy Services and end client Hurricane Energy.
The company will undertake a repair, life extension, and upgrade project on floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel Aoka Mizu as well as the fabrication of an over 1,000-tonne turret buoy for the FPSO to help the vessel moor and weathervane at the field site.
The Aoka Mizu FPSO arrived at the shipyard in Dubai for upgrade work on Saturday, September 30, 2017.
