Ørsted has awarded MH-O&Co with contracts to supply three crew transfer vessels (CTVs) to Ørsted’s 1.2GW Hornsea Project One located off Grimsby in the UK part of North Sea.
The contracts include two StratCat 26 vessels, RIX Lynx and RIX Leopard , operated by the UK-based Rix Sea Shuttle Ltd., and one newbuild 39m Fast Supply Cat, designed by Mik Henriksen, MH-O&Co’s owner, and Incat Crowther in cooperation with Ørsted.
“We are very pleased to have secured these contracts. They correspond well with our market focus and field of expertise, which centers on flexible, efficient and reliable operations through capabilities within vessel management and equipment selection,” Henriksen said.
MH-O&Co is building two of the 39m Fast Supply Cats, in the segment between CTV and service operation vessel (SOV).
The delivery of the vessels is planned for September 2018, while the contracts commence in 2018 and run until the end of 2019 with further options to extend.
Hornsea Project One is located 120 kilometers off the Yorkshire Coast and covers an area of 407 square kilometers.
The wind farm will comprise 174 Siemens 7MW wind turbines, and once fully operational in 2020, it will be the largest offshore wind farm in the world.
Ørsted is the sole owner of the wind farm and also has the project rights to Hornsea Project Two and Three, which have the potential of further 3GW offshore wind power capacity in total.
