Offshore drilling contractor Noble Corporation has secured another contract extension for its drilling rig Noble Paul Romano with Hess.

In its fleet status report issued on Thursday, Noble said the semi-submersible drilling rig would begin its new contract starting late December 2017.

The contract extension is on a dayrate of $115,000 and will keep the 1981-built rig busy until the second quarter of 2018. The rig will keep working for Hess in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.

Worth noting, the dayrate is the same compared to its previous October-December contract, however, it’s lower compared to a dayrate of $128,500 it had with

Hess from mid-September 2016 until early August 2017 on a $128,500 dayrate.

The Noble Paul Romano was built by Ingalls Shipbuilding Corp. in 1981 but was upgraded in 2013. It can work in water depths of up to 6,000 ft, drill up to 25,000 ft, and accommodate 149 people.
